Treemap
💡 A proportional map, or treemap, is used to represent, in the form of tiles, hierarchical numerical data. The size of the tiles is proportional to the values to represent. They are sorted in an order of decreasing values.
Creating the component
Click on the Treemap icon to add a treemap to the dashboard and drag and drop the fields you want to display.

The settings of the component is then done in the following order:
Fields of data items
Fields are added by drag and drop in the following two main areas.
Values
Arguments
Values
Hierarchical numerical data to be displayed.
Select of the "Sales Amount" data field

Arguments
Data field according to which the values will be split.
The size of the areas are proportional to the values to be displayed.

Multiple data items
Multiple values without argument
The addition of values allows to compare them between them in the same treemap if no argument has been added.
Comparison of maximum sales amount versus average sales amount in the example below

Multiple arguments and single value
Adding arguments increases the granularity of their analysis.
By month of each year in the following example.

Tiles can be grouped to create Parent / Child dashboard item groups.
By month of each year in the following example, grouped according to the years argument; there is a Child "Month" group, inside each Parent "Year" group.

Multiple values and single argument
dding values when there is at least one argument creates a new treemap on top of the previous one. Switching between the treemaps for each value is done by clicking on the stacked areas icon.
Comparison of average and total sales amounts per year in the example below.

Treemap settings
The treemap can be customized using the interaction and layout tool. Click on the cogwheel on the top right of the component to access the tool.

It features 3 tabs:
Interactions
Layout
Filters
Interactions
The interaction settings allow the treemap to interact with other dashboard components. The treemap, like any other dashboard item, can be configured to filter dashboard data.
For more details, see the section dedicated to the interactivity between visual components.
Layout
This tab is used to customize the display of the component.
Common
This part allows to configure the title of the component.

Show title: Hide or show the title. It is displayed by default.
Modify title: Rename the component.
Layout
This part allows to customize the layout and the display order of the treemap's tiles.

Slice and Dice: Each card is a vertical bar of the height of the treemap.
Squarified: The display of the tiles follows a division into square areas.
Striped: Tiles are aligned in dashboard item groups in vertical bars.
Layout direction: Tiles are arranged in order
Tile labels
This part allows to modify the content of the labels and tooltips of the treemap's tiles.

Labels: Modify the content of the data displayed in the tiles.
Tooltips: Modify the content of the data displayed in the tooltips of the tiles.
Group labels
This part allows to modify the content of the labels and tooltips of the dashboard item groups of the treemap.

Labels: Modify the content of the data displayed in the group tiles.
Tooltips: Modify the content of the data displayed in the tooltips of the group tiles.
Color management in a treemap
Basically, the argument fields do not affect the coloring of the chart. To color a chart according to the argument click on the argument, and color according to gradient.
Global colors: Change the colors of a set of values for all dashboard components.

Local colors: Change the colors of a set of values for this dashboard component only.

Filters
Adding a filter allows you to filter the data displayed in the treemap, it has no influence on the other dashboard components.
In this example, it the sales for each commercial by quarter-year, before a filter:

Below it is after this filter:
