You can set up links between dashboards that will allow you to navigate from one dashboard to another with the ability to pass data filters from the original dashboard to the target dashboard.
On the web part of Biwee, you have a first dashboard that shows the global figures of bike sales in the world, and a second one showing the details of sales. You want the detailed dashboard to be filtered when you open it, based on the selections made on the general dashboard.
On the general dashboard shown below, the user has selected 1 country: United-States and 1 sales person: David R Campbell.
After clicking on the "Details about sales" link, the detailed dashboard opens and it is already filtered on the country and sales person selected:
Creating the origin dashboard and destination dashboard.
If your destination dashboard is for local data, publish your dashboard before closing it.
Set up the dashboard link in the original dashboard in the software part of Biwee..
1. Click on the "Dashboard link" button in the "Settings" menu.
The dashboard link configuration window appears. In this window you can add one or more dashboard links.
2. Click on the "Add a dashboard link" button to add a new dashboard link.
3. Select the target dashboard, and enter a title for the link.
4. Configure the filters that will be applied on the destination dashboard:
For each piece of data on the target dashboard, you can choose whether it will be filtered or not. In case you want the data to be filtered, choose the field on the original dashboard that will apply the filter. The "Default" option can be used if you make a link between 2 dashboards that use the same data source. In this case, the link is automatically made between 2 columns with the same name. If the data corresponds to a filter element in the original dashboard, it will be filtered automatically in the destination dashboard. For data that is not filtering in the original dashboard, there will be no impact in the destination dashboard.
5. Once you have defined the behavior of each column you can click on "Insert link in dashboard" to insert the dashboard link into your document.
6. You can choose to insert the link as a clickable text field, or as an image. In the case of an image, click "Browse" to select your image.
You can then edit the text area (add a background color, change the font...), like any other text field, by right-clicking -> Edit
