💡 Filter elements are a set of 4 components that allow you to filter other dashboard components based on detailed criteria. They group the date filter, tree view, list or combo box.

Creating the component

Click on the Filter element icon and select what filter you want to add it to the dashboard, then drag and drop the fields you want to filter by.

The configuration of the component is then done in the following order:

Fields of data items

Filter fields are added by drag and drop in the Dimension area.

Dimension

Data used to filter. The type and number of data fields to be filled in depends on the type of filter element.

Selection of the "Sales Date" data field in a filter element "Date Filter".

Selection of the data items "Category" and "Subcategory" in a filter element "Tree View. The subcategories can be displayed by clicking on the arrow to the left of the category boxes. Adding dimensions increases the tree view level.

Selection of the data field "Store Country" in a filter element of type "List Box". Adding dimensions increases the detail of the list box.

Selection of the data items "Commercial" in a filter element of type "Combo box". The addition of dimensions increases the detail of the list box.

Filter definition

Date filter

The filter options are accessible by clicking on "Set filter". This opens the settings window.

You must then choose a start and end year, or enter the start and end dates manually.

Tree View

The filter can be set by checking the appropriate boxes in the list box, in the desired hierarchy level.

The lower tree views can be expanded by clicking on a horizontal arrow to the left of a box, as shown in blue above. They can then be closed by clicking on a vertical arrow to the left of an expanded level, as shown in red above.

List Box

The filter can be set by checking the appropriate boxes in the list box.

Combo Box

The filter can be set by selecting an item from the list box.

Filter Elements settings

Filter elements can be customized using the interaction and layout tool.

It features 3 tabs:

  • Interactions

Interactions

This tab allows you to configure the interactions of the filter elements with the other components of the dashboard.
